About Me – Lora Renee Douglas

Hi, I’m Lora Renee Douglas, a Reiki practitioner here in the Bay Area ready to support you in reconnecting with your own inner healing. I love helping people slow down, feel safe in their bodies, and come back to themselves — just as they are. When you step into a session with me, I want it to feel warm, welcoming, and peaceful — like visiting an old friend.

My journey with healing started when I was young, but Reiki became a big part of my life after I was treated for breast cancer. During that time, I met my Reiki teacher, who I worked with for over seven years before becoming certified as a Reiki Level II practitioner. Reiki has brought me peace in my relationships, helped me get clear about what really matters, and made the world around me feel brighter and more alive.

My background includes years of working with musicians and singing at weddings and funerals, so sound has always played a big role in my life. I often include sound healing in my sessions, along with crystals, tarot, and simple rituals. These are things I use every day in my own practice and feel deeply connected to.

A typical session with me includes a quick check-in, setting an intention together, choosing crystals, a short grounding meditation with sound healing, hands-on Reiki, and a few minutes of rest and tea afterward. Every session is a little different depending on what you need — we follow your energy and go from there.

I believe healing isn’t about fixing something that’s broken — it’s about remembering who you really are. You are already whole. Reiki is just a gentle way to reconnect with that truth.

Outside of Reiki, I love hiking with my family, writing poetry, practicing yoga, tending to my lavender garden, mixing herbal teas, laughing with friends, and watching musicals.

If you’re curious about Reiki but not sure what to expect, that’s totally okay. Reiki is a simple, comforting way to give yourself space — to rest, reflect, and reset. You don’t need to believe in anything specific to benefit from it. I’ll meet you where you are, and we’ll go from there.

I’d love to work with you
